Lydia nodded, yawning a yawn of her own. “I really hate how yawns are so contagious.” She muttered, suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling of tiredness. The past few days were finally catching up to her.
Stiles chuckled and went through the usual routine, taking Lydia’s hand to pull her off the couch, walking her to the door, handing her her coat. “Hey, uh…thanks. For tonight. It was interesting.” He said for lack of better words. He had no idea how to properly thank her for being the only person that truly listened to him. He waited a few moments before opening the door, holding it open for Lydia.
“I’m glad I do.” Lydia said, smiling once more. She never realized that she had an impact on when it came to Stiles and how he was feeling. When he dropped her hand, she sighed. “I guess you did.” She nodded.
“Me too.” Stiles said, returning the smile. Glancing at the clock, he yawned. “Well, I don’t know about you, but it’s past Stiles’ bedtime. You ready to get going?” He asked. It wasn’t that he wanted Lydia to leave, but he didn’t know what else to say. He held back another yawn.
Jeesh, I’m not cocky…all the time…
It kinda did, I guess?
Not all the time, but when you are, it’s bad.
Good. Mission accomplished. Kind of.
Is that so?
It is so, Scott. It is so.
I’ve always heard repeating yourself makes it sound more dramatic. Did it work?
Me? Too cocky? Never.
Somehow I find myself doubting that.

No, no. I won’t think again because…
I’m right. I know I’m right (;
Mm, okay. Just don’t get too cocky, my friend.
“I do?” Lydia asked. She smiled, unable to help herself. She was glad that she made him feel better. Lydia hated when her friends felt like, well, shit. She usually wasn’t very good with making them feel better. “I’m going to say this again: you. Do not. Deserve. It.” Sighing, she reached over to take his hand once more. This time she didn’t drop it. Giving it a squeeze, she smiled. “I’m just that good.” She responded.
Stiles nodded. “You always do. Without fail.” He said truthfully. “Thank you. I needed to hear that. Maybe some day I’ll believe it.” He said, smiling as Lydia took his hand. Seeing her being this kind was throwing him off. Usually, he could ignore his feelings for her when she was around, but he felt them creeping back up as he sat there with Lydia. Sighing, this time it was Stiles who dropped her hand. “I guess I underestimated you.” He said with a slight laugh.
